Sophia Rokhlin is an author, speaker, development advisor, and aspiring animist bridging resources to projects that foster the thriving of life on our beautiful planet. Her life’s work focuses on supporting the conservation of traditional ecological knowledge by advancing community-led solutions for land regeneration and protection. She currently serves as Community Manager with Ma Earth.

Sophia holds a BA in Religious Studies from The New School and an M.Sc. in Ecological Economics from the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her past roles include positions with the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance, Rainforest Foundation US, and the Chaikuni Institute in the Peruvian Amazon. She’s a graduate of the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine, and a Kernel Fellow.

Sophia is a co-author of When Plants Dream: Ayahuasca, Amazonian Shamanism and the Global Psychedelic Renaissance (Watkins, 2019). Her research and writing has been featured in publications including the Duncan Trussell Family Hour, The New York Times, Acne Paper Magazine, PBS, and the BBC.
