Sophia Rokhlin is an author and development advisor supporting the conservation of traditional ecological knowledge and land rights. She currently facilitates Community & Partnerships with Ma Earth.

Sophia holds a BA in Religious Studies from The New School and an M.Sc. in Ecological Economics from the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her past roles include development positions with the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance, Rainforest Foundation US, and the Chaikuni Institute in the Peruvian Amazon.

Sophia is a co-author of When Plants Dream: Ayahuasca, Amazonian Shamanism and the Global Psychedelic Renaissance (Watkins, 2019). She has guest lectured at institutions including Harvard Divinity School and Princeton University's Department of Anthropology. Her research and writing has been featured in publications including the The New York Times, PBS, and the BBC.
